Welcome to TechTeezy and today’s video is about Apple Park, Exploring Apple's New $5 Billion Headquarters.
In this video we will have a look inside Apple's five billion dollar headquarters. It might look like a UFO but this giant futuristic building is actually an entire campus dedicated to apple and the final project Steve Jobs worked on apple park, which turned out to be the most passionate one in his career.
It's known as the Apple Park, the spaceship or the ring, and the cost is an eye-watering five billion dollars to complete in 2017. Because of its unique shape, the entire building is cooled down by natural airflow.
It also has massive four-story tall glass doors that have powerful mechanisms that open them. There are solar farms on all of their roofs that power most of the facility and hidden underground tunnels.

▶️The campus: The Apple Headquarter Campus that has room for 15 thousand employees was designed to separate the inside and outside of the complex, ultimately creating its own little closed off community. When Steve Jobs came up with the idea of the Apple Park in early 2011, he wanted to make history. Jobs wanted to create a calming, collaborative space where all the workers could take a relaxing stroll through nature to clear their minds or solve problems.

▶️The Idea of Apple Park: Jobs first pitched the idea to the Cupertino City Council back in California in 2011, which he eventually got permission. His vision was to bring all of the company's best and brightest into one complex so that he could combine natural sustainability and technological advancement in one place.

▶️The construction: To start with apple bought an industrial park in Cupertino about an hour away from San Francisco, thought it was largely covered by asphalt. It is at amongst man-made rolling hills to get the ball rolling on development. Steve jobs met with architect Norman foster, Pritzker prize winner whose commissions have included the berlin rick stage, hongkong airport, and London’s infamous gherkin tower. His architecture firm foster and partners decided to take on the unique project and they came up with a budget of about 500 million dollars. Unfortunately that budget didn’t work for very long by the end of 2011 development costs were estimated at about 3 billion and then by completion in 2017 the new apple HQ racked up an astonishing 5 billion dollar price tag. Steve Jobs passed away in 2011 so while most of the ideas at apple park are his. The team was working without his instruction for the majority of the time it took them to build the office. The park even comes with 1,000 bicycles for employees to use to move around the spacious campus. Other aspects encouraging employee health are the state-of-the-art wellness center and basketball courts. This health and wellness complex includes a two-story yoga studio, physical therapy studio and laundry facilities. It even offers employees access to medical and dental services right on site.

▶️Jobs vision for the campus: Steve Jobs wanted a lot of glass and natural light included in the park. He got exactly what he dreamed because the building features the largest curved glass panes in the world. They’re 45 feet 13.7 meters tall and there are 800 on-campuses another area where the glass is well shown off is in the apple. He made sure that it included sustainable and eco-friendly ways to generate and use energy. Apple has also planted 9,000 trees that are drought resistant during the warmer months.

▶️Apple Park visitor center: The visitors’ center cost approximately one hundred and ten million dollars, but since it attracts fans of Apple products, it seems at the high price tag was worth.
▶️Disaster proof: The complex was designed to be resistant to natural disasters like hurricanes, floods and earthquakes to protect their pricey investment. The ring also has underground based isolation, which stabilizes the structure by allowing the building to move up to four point five feet in any direction without compromising its strength.
