March along to see our latest display which is dedicated to an important part of the New Zealand war effort – the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF).
Featuring our bronze WAAF bust (recently returned from conservation treatment), photographs and digital images to browse, it explores different aspects of the wartime WAAFs experience, from recruiting and training to their varied jobs, as well as off duty activities.
The display is a small way to honour the wartime WAAFs, who paved the way for all women in the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
