In this video, I will take you through the most common scenario where you want to host a static website on S3 using your own domain name purchased from GoDaddy. You can apply same process if you have bought your domain from any other vendor.

Next step would be to keep the S3 bucket private and host the website behind Amazon CloudFront and also having custom domain name for the website.
