This is a Ladera Ranch roof inspection that turned into a small tile roof leak repair job.

Even though the builder installed two layers of 30lb roofing felt the roof still sustained a bad leak as a result of faulty builder workmanship.

The biggest myth in roofing is that you need two layers of felt paper. One layer installed correctly would be better than most the double layer felt job I have seen from some local home builders in Southern California.

Newer concrete tile roofs "usually" have a double felt and that is not a bad thing. But, if your builder cut some corners when hiring the roofers then the two layers of roofing felt will not keep your roof from leaking much sooner than it should.
