A young teacher of a Moscow college Marina Krasovskaya is going on a holiday to a hotel. She is sick and tired of teaching, of her PhD research, her long-standing fiancé Ed. She longs for an adventure, be it detective or romantic. A gust of wind blows off her hat to the pond, and taking it out she finds a drowned man in the water, who was one of the guests at the hotel. Though the police believe his death was an accident, Marina has no doubts that the man was murdered, for she has found a clue near the pond. Several guests fall under suspicion, when it turns up that they have been sailing under false colours...
