Watching Waves for the first time was an experience that I will never forget. Trey Edward Shults has been a director that I have looked up to since I saw Krisha and was amazed by the emotion and cinematography that made me feel like I could create something that had so much personality and such a personal feel. He has a strong clear vision and it shows through all of his movies so far, even It Comes at Night which I absolutely loved. Waves is a very personal film that struck a cord in me especially since in my life I can look back and relate to so many themes that were explored. It is a very heavy movie and I think has very important lessons that everyone can take away. Also the theater experience was one of the best I have had in a long time with the cinematography and soundtrck working together to create a visceral emotional journey. I love this movie.
