Maria Latilla is surprisingly impressed by The First Omen, a scary through-the-fingers peek into the lore of Richard Donner's original 70s horror film. Not only is it an impressive directorial debut for Arkasha Stevenson. it also serves to break a depressing run of disappointing horror backstories.
