Maj Gen Pramod Saighal retired in 2002 as the Head of Army Air Defence College. Prior to that he trained officers of 38 Armies at Army War College Mhow. He has also trained cadets of The National Defence Academy and The Officer's Training Academy. He is a pilot and a deep sea diver and has flown extensively in the North-East and J&K.
Post retirement he headed two NGOs in the field of education and disaster management and was involved with reconstruction of 400 schools and 10 hospitals in Andaman & Nicobar Islands after they were destroyed by the Tsunami.
Alongside, he has been working for the Empowerment of our children and has counselled over a million children of schools, colleges and universities on issues of critical relevance to them. He was commended for the same by Late Dr. Abdul Kalam and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, besides several Chief Ministers and luminaries. He has also trained over a thousand students for Civil Services and has been bestowed with Guru Samman by Samkalp.
