Pulitzer Award-winning journalist Chris Hedges joins IGL to answer our questions. We start by asking why Chris thinks that the "live-streamed genocide" in Gaza represents a longstanding global divide between Western imperialism on the one hand and the global majority on the other hand. From here we take stock of his thoughts on a wider regional conflict involving Iran and its allies on one hand and Israel and the West on the other hand. We have a detailed discussion about what Chris thinks about the NYT which was once his employer. We also take an update on the Julian Assange case as Chris attended the latest trial of Assange. We ask Chris why he thinks that the Democratic Party in the US is not the lesser of the two evils. We also discuss how the New Athiest movement is Islamophobic and how it became complicit with the US "war on terror." Finally, we end with a discussion on whether the Left has a convincing answer on its position about religion.
