I found this lowboy while hauling material from a project into an old scrapyard. I noticed the trailer sitting off in the woodline. It looked like it hadn't been used in a while. So, I asked the owner of the property what was the story behind the trailer. He said that they do not use it anymore because they have another. I asked if they'd be willing to sell it and for how much. The price was reasonable, it looked to be in decent shape, and I was able to come up with the money. The next challenge was getting it out of the spot where it had been sitting for the last 2 years, or so. At first, the owner expected me to just back under it and roll out. Even if I had a wetline kit installed on my truck, it wasn't going to be that easy. I convinced him to use his excavator to pull it out of its hole to a spot I could reach with my truck. Well, that proved to be a challenge a swell. When he attempted to lift the neck with the excavator, one of the stabilizing legs slipped the the neck disconnected from the trailer. It took about 20 minutes, along with some repositioning of the chain and excavator to get it back on. Once we got the neck reconnected, he pulled it out to where I could under it with my truck. After that, it was a short ride home. Next step is to get a wetline kit installed on my truck!
