BIG ASH Maxing out Wood-Mizer LT15 WIDE Sawmill There were a couple first with this log milling project. It was the first time that I salvaged a log and moved it straight from the trailer bed to the sawmill bed. It is also the first time I maxed out the Wood-Mizer Wide Sawmill with a thirty-six-inch log! Many thanks to Tim the tree guy for reaching out to see if I was interested in salvaging this big ash log. The answer was yes and as far as salvages go it was easy. The log was in Lakeville and an easy in and out of the back yard. Even though it was a big log it was well within the capacity of my skid loader. It took a little bit of wrangling to position the big ash log on the mill. It was mainly milled in twelve quarter live edge slabs. Make sure to look for the video that I do on stacking and stickering the big ash log on a Slabskids for air drying. Really enjoying having a electric bandsaw in the log yard. Happy that it is not a portable sawmill and I won’t be tempted to take it out on the road. For now, I have enough logs to get through in the log yard.
