I take my claim back. Peak’s iPhone case isn’t vaporware. It actually exists! It’s took a while but the Everyday case along with all the SlimLink accessories finally showed up! The last order I made from Peak was about $300 dollars and Peak sent my order in three different packages so that was fun.

After the barrage of delays, was the Peak Everyday Case and corresponding accessories worth the wait? From what we can see, Peak has an absolute killer combo in their lineup BUT we think there might be a better system on the horizon when it comes to mounting your iPhone to a bike or selfie pole. However, throughout our usage over the last few months, we realized that there was a big red flag with Peaks set of mobile accessories.

The Everyday Case by itself isn’t great. Given the mountable nature of the product line, the case doesn’t seem suited for drops offered by similar brands. The case itself is well built, the edge texture is good enough and the fabric back feels nice though it allows the iPhone to slide around easily. The case edges are quite low, offering below average clearance for your iPhone’s screen.

What makes the Everyday Case exciting is the SlimLink connection piece on the back of the case. It allows you to mount the case to a variety of mounts and accessories. The coolest thing about Peaks mounting solution is that it keeps the back of the case incredibly thin. Products like Rockform and Quadlock have thick backs which lessens the usability of your iPhone. Rokform cases weigh a ton and hardly poorly and Quadlock cases have humps on the back of the case. The Everyday case feels like a normal case.

Out of all the accessories that we used, the best was the wallet case. By itself, the wallet case isn’t great as it falls off easily and will come off if you try to open the hinge by itself. However, the wallet case with the Everyday case is killer. The cards are easy to get to and the because of all the extra magnets on the Everyday case, you won’t have the wallet case come off easily. The hinge on the wallet case is so useful as well because it doubles as a stand as well as a one-handed usage tool.

When it comes to mounting it on a moving vehicle or bike, we’re fully confident that the case isn’t going to come off the mount. Because of the reverse tapered square on the back of the case, we couldn’t pry the case from mount no matter how hard we cranked on it.

The biggest red flag for us is are the extra magnets, our magnetic paper can see the magnets through the iPhone. There’s only a handful of cases that have such strong magnets that the field can be detected on the front of the iPhone. Now as of this review, Apple’s support page on magnetic cases was updated 4 days ago so this issue seems to be quite concurrent (it’s been updated 14 times in the last three years). Our biggest concern is with the camera with the OIS and other image stabilization features that help us record smooth video for our videos. Having the possibility of magnets disrupting a shoot is mildly concerning for us.
