http://www.HampdenCountyHomes.com Hi - Don Thompson here, your local real estate expert, I notice that you have been looking at homes on my website and I’m not really sure where you are in the home buying process so I wanted to share with you the 7 basic steps that you will be going through to obtain your next home.
First, you should and I would say must get pre-approved for mortgage financing. You’ve got to know how much you can buy and if you even qualify. It costs you nothing and you might be surprised… despite what you might have heard, you don’t need perfect credit and you certainly don’t need a huge down payment.

Now, you can seriously start looking at houses and find the that house that feels like it should be your next home.

You find it. So now you make an offer and negotiate the deal and, you should know, the best deal is not always the lowest price.

Once you have an accepted offer you will need to formalize your loan application with a lender.

At the same time you should be doing your inspections. Now, There are many different inspections that you should consider. And I want to tell you, the cheapest inspection you can find is rarely the best.

Then comes the day when your lender gives you the word that you mortgage has been approved and that you just need to provide them with a few more pieces of paper...and I know... that sometimes you’re going to feel like the bank is picking on you...just be assured that they are picking on everyone.

Finally, you get the “clear to close” from the bank. you schedule your closing, sign the paperwork and get your keys.

Sounds simple and it really should be.
