In this video I chat with friend and professor Matthew Kuiper of Hope College. We discuss the history of Dawa, the missionary "call" to Islam, from its origins in the message of the Qur'an to modern movements that utilize advanced communication methods to reach millions of people. We discuss popular Dawa personalities like Dr. Zakir Naik and Sh. Ahmed Deedat as well as the relationship of Dawa to Christian missionary activity.

Dr. Kuiper obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in 2016 and is currently a professor of religion at Hope College. He is the author of two books on Dawa which can be found below.
