Walt Disney studios was contracted to provide the animation for this opening sequence to the DOE (Department of Energy) and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) film "World Wide Fallout from Nuclear Weapons." The narrator is Mark Tapscott, a Hollywood actor called upon by Lookout Mountain Laboratory to act and narrate the film.
The film was made in 1962 during the height of the Cold War.
