Apple’s App Tracking Transparency feature has shaken up digital advertising’s cross-site targeting infrastructure, and its Private Click Measurement has threatened to do the same on the measurement front. Originally introduced in 2019, Private Click Measurement offers up an alternative to cookie-based measurement and attribution that doesn’t enable cross-site tracking and harkens back to coupon-era measurement and attribution, as Digiday senior media editor Tim Peterson explains in this video.
