Alice in Chains is one of the most respected bands of all time. They're considered part of the "Big 4" of Grunge, along with Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, though the band was definitely the most metal leaning. Alice in Chains found success with 1990's Facelift, but it was 1992's Dirt that brought the band to new heights. Dirt spawned huge singles such as "Would?" and "Rooster". The band became known for their iconic sludgy sound, but they also had a soft side as well. Along came 1994's acoustic EP Jar of Flies, in which the band entered new territory. Jar of Flies saw Alice in Chains at their most intimate and reflective, with frontman Layne Staley baring his soul both vocally and lyrically.

Jar of Flies is home to Alice in Chains' most haunting song.
