Hi mis chulas !!!!! If you have been following me for a while, you guys know Im an open book. I try to share as much as I can of my life with the intentions of helping someone else who might be going through the same thing. When i was trying to conceive my little juju bean you guys know I shared any little detail with you guys. Now that i have him and i am now in a different stage of my life, I want to also share the good and the tough times with you because i know I cant be the only one who crosses rough patches in motherhood. WE love our children dearly and whole heartedly that most of the time we are the reason why they act the way they do.

Prior to quitting my job. I was a behavior therapist for 6 years. Two of those years I was a supervisor in the field. I worked with children and adults with mental health disorders such as autism, adhd, down syndrome and many more. My job was to work with children and adults ages 3-25. Given that i have "experience" in maladaptive behaviors and implementation of therapy to treat such behaviors, I find myself in a struggle on how to properly approach my 9 month olds recent " screaming" behavior. I had never worked with babies before and my first son never had this issue.

Since this has only been happening for a little over a week now, I am hoping that it is just a stage and that it will pass. The therapist in me tells me that he's doing this for attention and the mom in me wants to give him that attention. I hate seeing my kids cry but i also have to remind myself that as long as they are in a safe place and being watched , crying is not bad for them. It just breaks my heart and hearing him scream even for a couple minutes is very stressful. He is only 9 months so there is no reasoning with him right now lol. I am currently working on making him laugh, distracting him, clapping for him, jumping around and only picking him up when he is no longer screaming. I am going to continue to analyze this behavior and share what worked for me and what didn't. It is a new behavior so i still have to see if it will even last.
