Having backyard chickens means plenty of egg shells. I thought it would be nice to be able to use these shells as an ingredient in a pottery glaze. I fire the shells in an electric kiln, grind them up, and use them as a Whiting (Calcium Carbonate) alternative in two different glaze recipes.

These pieces were fired in an electric kiln to Cone 5.
