In this Advancing Allieds episode, #HRStv host Julie B. Shea, MS, MSN, FHRS, CCDS, sits down with Samuel F. Sears, PhD, Ann Kirkness, RN, CNC, and Tiffany Andrade, MS, PAC to discuss ICD Support Groups. Exploring new ways to provide education and support for ICD patients, both in-person and virtually in today's post-COVID climate. ICD Support Groups have been useful adjuncts in both the physical and psychological care of patients living with ICDs (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators). As ICD technology has evolved over the years, with expanding indications and utilization, the need for ongoing education and psycho-social support for this patient population still exists, despite the research and development of shock minimizing technologies.
