There have been a ton of parades and shows over the years at Disneyland, but none of them have been able to create this type of euphoric experience. This is not something that leaned on the villain characters themselves, but touches up the ora that each one gives. To me this is a walk thru attraction that allows you to walk thru the spirit of our favorite baddies. And I don't think it would have worked as well with characters who weren't scoundrels. Each section oozes with subtle nuances that make them who they are. And yes of course I am getting a little deep on all this, but it is just incredible how Disney transformed a somewhat drab location like the the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail into the heart and evil soul of an entire Halloween event in a Disney Theme Park. Some people I overheard were wondering where the actual villains were, to them I say, they are all around us. Even while in the queue, a CM was making sure that everyone knew there where no characters in this attraction, feeling the need to managing expectations I suppose. There is a possibility that this is not for everybody, and that is ok. Plenty of actual characters to personally roast you as you walk by all over the park. I'm glad they kept the actual characters out of it. It just wouldn't have hit the same way. Bravo to all involved on this ground breaking experience.
