The Maasai people still live off the land in their ancestral homeland of Maasai Mara, Kenya. To this day they are among very few people allowed to still live and hunt there. They live within the Maasai Mara Wildlife Preserve and move from place to place as per the needs of their livestock.
The homes are constructed out of wood framing and cow dung. The women typically build the houses, mixing the cow dung with water and working it into a paper-like material for the walls.
