Seventy-four-year-old grandmother Jeanette Yaboa* is currently living with her two grandsons in a room in a Travelodge.
They have been there for three months after being evicted from a one-bedroom flat. They have nowhere to cook or wash clothes. She is "worried" and says her mental health has plummeted.
A Lambeth Council spokesperson told the i that the council faces “a severe housing crisis” because of a growing gulf between “the demand for accommodation and the number of affordable homes available” as well as “a lack of adequate government funding to deal with this issue”.
