UPDATE:
The issue with the exposure ended up being a firmware issue as I suspected. I eventually got the updated files which came directly from Elegoo support. The update put me to version EL3D-3.0.2 and V4.3.12_LCDC/1620x2560 /F2.19. If you're by chance still having issues I'd check the firmware version and see if you can get the updated files.

I have no longer had any issues with the USB reading

The mono screens (on all the new mono printers from what I've heard) don't come with a glass layer like previous printers. The extremely soft layer is actually the polarization film over the LCD. This is similar to your computer screen and its lack of glass (on most) if you touch it. Most have suggest doing something like adding a piece of FEP and taping it down with Kapton tape to protect the screen, or even putting a cell phone screen protector over top of the polarizing film. I've added a sheet of FEP and the printing was unaffected.

I just got a Mars 2 Pro yesterday. I've been excited to use it. Unfortunately I've run into a few issues with it. The three main issues I've had are as follows:

1. is the most serious issue I've had. I went to check a print and nothing was there. Thinking it had failed and would be in the bottom of the reservoir I drained the reservoir through a filter only to find nothing was in the reservoir. There was the start of a print stuck to the build plate, but for the amount of time it had been printing there should have been something in the reservoir or much more on the build plate. Thinking that was weird I did a test exposure. The display indicated that the Elegoo image should be on the screen, but the screen was blank. After a reboot, the exposure test worked normally. So my print failed because the screen stopped working and no resin was being cured. I don't know if it's a faulty screen going bad or if it's just buggy. I feel like it's just poor firmware as the reboot fixed it.

2. My USB randomly won't read. In order to get it to read all I have to do is turn it off and then back on, but that seems like something buggy/beta and not ready for production.

3.. The screen now scratches EXTREMELY easy. I was using a soft cloth and I think whatever dust or cardboard was on the screen left scratches. Not enough to affect the prints I don't think, but I was using a soft cloth, being careful, and still left scratches! That seems unacceptable.
