This is just a classic tune. The tones Page gets are pretty difficult to emulate but I think I achieved something relatively close. The main lick is a standard blues chord form. I don't play it exactly as Page does, partly because I can't, but I would rather put my own twist on it anyhow. I always try and keep some creativity in the covers I play. Although Zep throws their own twist on the standard blues changes.
There's a lot of reverb on the lead guitar. I think that's how Page gets that wash over the two-part chords that adds a bit of ear candy in the verses. As with all guitar solos I learn, I can get a portion of it proper the way the original guitar played it and I use that as a road map for what I'd like to do with the solo. This is a one off, so I'd have to sit down and learn this solo I played if were to repeat it note for note.
