The historic 2004 enlargement was the birth of a new era for the European Union. This was the moment when ten more countries joined the European family.

The ten, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia made the Union stronger and by doing this, they became stronger too.
