The 3rd juz can be split into 4 passages; contained in the first passage, from ayat 253 to 260 is the greatest treasure, the greatest ayat in the Quran, where Allah SWT introduces himself to his creation

الله لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ

The one who will always be living الْحَيُّ

The one who will always take care of you الْقَيُّومُ

And then to give us a demo of that power are three stories

Nimrod’s debate with Ibrahim AS about أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِي حَاجَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي رَبِّهِ 258

Then the story of a town in ruins brought back to life miraculously

And finally, 260 where Ibrahim AS is made to witness the secret of creation through the example of birds - all the stories affirming the absolute power of Allah SWT,


The next passage 261 - 286 - starts with highlighting the importance of charity, and teaching the proper method of charity for example in 264

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ لاَ تُبْطِلُواْ صَدَقَاتِكُم بِالْمَنِّ وَالأَذَى

by making a display of it or by hurting others

ayat 275 mandates the rejection of Interest as a condition of true faith. 282, the longest Quranic verse lays out the ethics of financial transactions, and finally 284-286 talks about the central aspects of faith, belief in Allah, His angels, books, and messengers, concluding with a powerful appeal for forgiveness for any shortcomings along the course.


The third passage in al Imran, starts off with describing the Attitudes of the believer towards the divine message in 7- وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا

Contrasting it with the response of the disbelievers. The passage concludes with a very decisive statement

قُلْ أَطِيعُواْ اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ 32Obey god and the messenger, which is what Allah loves فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْكَافِرِينَ if you all turn away, Allah does not love the ones who reject.

33-91 contains within it three powerful stories to affirm the humanity of Isa AS starting with the birth story of Maryam AS, and then dua of Zakariya AS

for38 هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاء despite his and his wife’s old age he is granted Yahya AS

verse 42 begins the story of the miraculous birth of Isa AS, his status as a prophet with Bani Israel, their rejection until Allah SWT talks about how he raised him up alive miraculously. The rest of the juz then talks about the address of the Prophet SAW to the Christians of the time, inviting them to Tawheed and the truth of Isa AS - great points that we can use in our da’wah efforts. This then brings us to the end of the juz, ayats that highlight the demand of complete submission, just like Ibrahim Ismaeel, Ishaac, Yaqoub to Musa, and Isa - who were all Muslims - meaning regardless of time and place, they all submitted to the will of Allah SWT in all affairs of their lives - and that indeed is the true essence of submission
