Disney villains typically meet a gruesome end, but there are plenty of occasions where all might not be as it seems. These 10 villains might still be alive and kicking, as their demises aren’t totally watertight. There are lots of examples of falls from great heights, from Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Scar to Lucifer, Gaston, and Mother Gothel. But we explore what could have happened to them instead. And we check off how many of them are alive in “Descendants”!

Then there are the more unusual demises, like Dr. Facilier’s voodoo mask ending and Shan Yu’s fireworks display. These are also open to interpretation. Some of the villains have apparent demises in sequels, like Jafar. We also look at the science behind their final scene, like Ursula and the power of being half octopus.
