As I unbox this gadget, I can't help but admire its thoughtful design, featuring flat sides and a return of the iconic alert slider. But then, I come to the back, and it's a mixed bag. The fake leather finish may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it does hide fingerprints. The real story here is the colossal camera bump. It's crazy looking, yet, it happens to be exactly where your index finger naturally rests when using the phone while it's closed. It's like a convenient shelf.

However, the true magic unfolds when you open this device. It's a sight to behold. A massive 7.8-inch, corner-to-corner LTPO 3.0 display with an astonishing 2800 nits of brightness. The crease, almost invisible, marks a significant step forward in foldable screen technology. Interestingly, this might not technically be OnePlus' first foldable phone, as it seems to have inherited some tech from its sister company, OPPO.

But what truly sets this phone apart is its ability to stay at any angle, thanks to its hinge. Whether you prefer a 90-degree angle or something in between, it's entirely up to you. The satisfying spring-loaded closure adds to the premium feel of this device.

Now, let's talk about the software. Powered by OxygenOS 13.2, this phone caters to power users with features that enhance multitasking, including the ability to have multiple apps open simultaneously. It offers a seamless transition between the cover screen and the inside screen, ensuring that you can pick up right where you left off. This device is a productivity powerhouse, keeping you organized and efficient.

This phone hits all the marks of a great smartphone - an exceptional display, impressive battery life, solid build quality, top-tier performance, and a capable camera. The Snapdragon 8 gen 2, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage make it a future-proof powerhouse.

However, there are some significant hurdles that folding phones face. Firstly, the price. At $1700, it's undeniably steep, even if it's in line with its folding competitors.
