Killinger Pfeifen in Freiberg am Neckar is a small but renowned manufacturer of organ pipes. Its customers are organ builders all over the world.

They cast the organ metal from tin and lead, plane it into thin sheets and shape them into organ pipes of all sizes. Many of the work steps are down to millimetres.

In the end, the voicer needs a good ear to give the pipes the right tone.
It is a centuries-old craft and many of the steps have hardly changed over time. UNESCO has awarded the production of organ pipes the status of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
