USF is no ordinary college, and if you attend, you will be no ordinary student. That being said, there are some things you can avoid to make the most of your time at USF. It took a little while for me to even quite grasp what was going on here. USF was a small, private, Jesuit university—a sense of community wasa major selling point—but was void of any social cohesion. It felt like UC Berkeley or SFSU, except with more repeats of the faces you walk by. I wish I knew that my university unfortunately would do little to invite me in, especially as a transfer. Had I known this, I would have rallied the friendship armies in my mind sooner. Preemptively adopted the fearless attitude I developed eventually. Started having fun sooner.
