Land Rover is pinning a great deal on the redesign of the iconic Defender, a task with massive implications since this is the first redesign in the Defender's nearly 40 year history. Although the second gen Defender's launch has gotten off to a somewhat rocky start, and purists will criticize the design, there is a great deal to love. Ditching the body on frame and solid axles will offend some, but it also broadens the Defender's appeal to a demographic that might not have considered one before.
