Toyota Taisor Car Latest Updates

Toyota has marked its re-entry into the sub-4 metre SUV segment by introducing the Urban Cruiser Taisor, which is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 7.74 lakh (ex-showroom). Even though the overall silhouette remains the same as the Fronx, Toyota has given it bespoke design touches to help the Taisor stand out from the Fronx. That said, the interior dashboard layout with the black/maroon colour scheme is similar to that in the Fronx. The Urban Cruiser Taisor is available in three engine options spread across five different trim levels.  


Features of Toyota Taisor

The Toyota Taisor comes fully equipped with all the features already found in the Fronx. It gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, a heads-up display and a multi-information TFT inset within the driver’s display On the safety front, the Urban Cruiser Taisor gets up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera system.

Toyota Taisor Engine

The Toyota Taisor offers identical engine choices to the Fronx. Customers can choose between a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 90 PS/113 Nm, a 1.2-litre CNG powertrain producing 77 PS/98 Nm, or a more potent 1-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 100 PS/148 Nm. Standard transmission is a 5-speed manual, while automatic alternatives include a 5-speed AMT for the naturally aspirated petrol and a 6-speed torque converter for the turbo-petrol variant. The Urban Cruiser Taisor is 3995 mm long, 1765 mm wide, 1550 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2520 mm.

Apart from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Urban Cruiser Taisor rivals the Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon,, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, and Renault Kiger.

Toyota Taisor Variants

The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine gets three variants, E,S and S+ with the option of a CNG confined to the lower E trim. The 1-litre turbo petrol models can be opted in two variants namely G and V. There’s a total of five colours available including three dual-tone options namely Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Sportin Red, Gaming Grey, and Lucent Orange.
