In celebration of their 50th Anniversary, DesRosiers Architects produced a short-film, Force of Nature, where founder and President, Lou DesRosiers shares stories from his upbringing, the inspiration behind the work, and what continues to drive the firm today.

The film goes on to share the story of how Lou’s love for his father, the outdoors and and seeing an idea come to life all drew him into this profession and the founding of the firm 50 years ago. Over its five decades, DesRosiers Architects has designed luxury custom homes throughout Michigan and across the United States in picturesque locations like Telluride, CO, Park City, UT, Jupiter, FL and Beverly Hills, CA. Every design shares the firm’s ethos “It’s all about view, view, view” as Lou emphasizes in the film.

Lou and the firm develop special relationships with the clients. “We are designing for their daily lives, so you get to know each client personally and not only how they want to use their home, but how they want to feel in it.” Lou explains. And the connection seems to go both ways. “He is a very passionate person about his work. But to add to that is the personality, the human being he is. We can call him anytime (for advice). I’m a physician and he is like our physician for our home,” client Dr. Ghaz Atto affectionately shares in the film.

Later, Lou talks about the importance of the people behind DesRosiers Architects “Like any successful firm, you have to have a team effort. And you’re only as good as your staff, and how much they care and their talent.” Clearly this approach has paid off as some staff members have been with the firm for multiple decades, and DesRosiers Architects has won over 200 local and national awards.
