When Mattel launched the Masters of the Universe line of toys from 1981 to 1983, little did they know that the franchise would become a giant in the years to come! They soon became much bigger than the usual action figure-based toys, and the stories of He-Man and the evil Skeletor began to develop. The toys came with mini-comics that had some information about the characters so that the kids knew how to play with them. It soon became a popular cartoon, and it was fun to watch the stories of He-Man and his allies unfold as they battled the evil plans of Skeletor and his minions.

Skeletor slowly became one of the most iconic villains of all time, but there remained some serious inconsistencies regarding his storyline. There are times when the demon made no sense at all because of these origin stories that confused the fans. He was initially portrayed as an alien invader with plans of conquering Eternia, and soon the stories spiraled into everything from an interdimensional being to someone with a seriously disfigured face and anger issues! From the mini-comics to the cartoons and the live-action movie, Skeletor has undergone a sea change regarding his origin, mannerisms, powers, and even his sinister plans. In this video, we will try to explore the details of his complicated origin because, as we said, he still remains one of the great villains who provided tons of entertainment for many people’s childhoods.
