This Video is a colorful journey through Queer Art History. Buckle up as we paint a picture of rebellion, love, and everything queer and fabulous, proving that the only straight lines are mostly in geometry.

In this video, we look at photos and works of art by Rosa Bonheur, Marie Laurencin, and Tamara de Lempicka from the 19th century.

After the war, art said 'out with the old, in with the queer.' Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Francis Bacon, and J.C. Leyendecker helped pave this vibrant path.

The AIDS crisis brought pain but also sparked a flame of activism in art. Keith Haring, David Wojnarowicz, and again, Gonzalez-Torres, used their talents to fight, remember, and inspire hope. Haring's dynamic figures and symbols became vital to New York's visual language, advocating for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights.

Fast forward to today, where Zanele Muholi, Kehinde Wiley, and Nan Goldin show that queer art isn't just a chapter in history—it's the future. Muholi's powerful portraits document the lives of South Africa's 2SLGBTQIA+ community, challenging stigma and celebrating beauty.

And that’s our whirlwind tour of queer art history. It clearly revealed that our stories and expressions are as boundless as the colors we find in our rainbow bouquet of flags.
So why stop here? Dive deeper, explore more, and maybe pick up a brush or digital art app yourself. Who knows? The next great artist in queer history could be you!
