This video will show you how to identify if the Mustang is a Factory GT and not an after market make over.
Check for:
- fog lights in front on grill
- Mustang on lower front fender
- GT on lower front fender
- Racing strips along side lower side on car
- Disc brakes - rotors and caliptors
- Master cylinder
- Gas cap - 1966 had GT on it not 65
- Exhaust pipe through lower panel under bumper
- A letter in car ID number on fender
- Gold color air cleaner and valve covers
- 4 bbl carburetor
- Shocks and coil springs are heave duty
- Sway bar 13/16 inch thick
- Hole in radiator support bracket is punched not drilled - where the horn wires go through
- Tag on steering box, HCC AX - manual steering, close ratio

- Inside
- Fog light switch under dash - dash lights, fog lights and rear running lights all come on,
- Brake peddle - disc brakes on rubber peddle
- Round gauges
- Under rear seat is a welded plate to support dual exhaust pipes
- Bottom of car
- Clamps for mufflers
- Brake line mover over for muffler location
- Hold in frame blocked off for bracket for dual exhaust
