Crocea Mors has been a really “fun” RWBY weapon to work on. It may be a simple weapon compared to the rest of them, but that allows me to focus on other things. I have been thinking about making this one since Pyrrha’s video. I know that I wanted to show the changes the weapon has undergone along with the abilities that it has--breaking the blade was always part of the original plan. Same with using the remains of Miló and Akoúo̱, since I had already made the models, but having Cinder’s sword and Pyrrha’s headband/crown where things that I added to help with the emotional impact.
I wasn’t sure at first if I wanted to add the Disk Grenade in this video, but the fact that Jaune has a mechanism in the shield to catch the grenade sold me on it. I really like how the shield end up looking. I may be twisting the knife on people’s feelings a bit with this one, but I’m proud of the end product.
