We're in it. Fall bass fishing is upon us and it's a great time to be on the water, especially tidal water. The bait is balled up in coves and in the backs of creeks and bass are very well aware. If you can find the bait, imitate the forage and locate the feeding fish, the equation is solved.

For this Fall CATT James River Series Tournament, we did just that. It was a day of wind, warming temps and the bait was corralled in pockets and creeks, and the bass weren't far behind. When we found structure, be it laydowns, docks or hard cover, the fish were even easier to locate. With the mentioned wind, the spinnerbait was the deal all day. While we never found the BIG bite we needed, it was relatively consistent and the fish were where they were supposed to be.

It may not have been a win, but five fish weighed for 8.74lbs put us in 7th out of 14 boats. Not exactly where we wanted to be, but thankful for a great day on the water and consistent catching. Until next time, win or learn, no losses!
