The second webinar in this series features presentations on community engagement/trust-building and technical assistance for small and rural communities from the @mwrdgc and @michigantech.

From 2020-2022, the Great Lakes Commission convened a regional working group to identify approaches for improving water infrastructure in the Great Lakes region. By developing a common understanding of water infrastructure problems and outlining the steps to progress, the working group developed a blueprint with the goal of propelling actions to address the region’s water infrastructure needs. To share how the Great Lakes community has put blueprint approaches into action, the Great Lakes Commission has collected success stories or “implementation tactics” from utilities, state agencies, and other organizations.

This webinar series features speakers from four organizations that are demonstrating blueprint approaches to protect public health, build trust with their communities, ensure equitable distribution of investments, and promote asset management and workforce development. Additionally, each webinar showcases an Environmental Finance Center to share how they are providing technical assistance to communities to secure funding for water infrastructure improvements.
