YouTube is full of friction fire videos done in optimal weather conditions where everything is dry and easy as pie. Well that ain't gonna happen in a real life wilderness survival situation. You need to know how to start fire, without a lighter or matches, in wet weather. This week we're heading out after an all night rain storm to take on one a huge survival challenge - to gather materials for a bow drill friction fire in wet weather. I'll talk about where to find fire making materials from tender and kindling to bulk fire wood. Then I'll use only my Leatherman P4 to build a friction fire kit.
