I was needing s solution for really big processing trays and all I could find was really big and expensive processing trays that required lots of space and worse lots of chemistry. I remembered seeing “drum processors” and decided to try the concept on really big papers using a salvaged 55 gallon drum, a simple wood frame and 4 casters. This allows the drum to rotate and it has just enough of a lip to hold all the chemistry needed to cover the paper. You will simply need to space the castors to allow it to be level and that is it, you could also do this with a smaller drum if needed. I plan on showing a ultra large Cyanotype processed and toned as well as a silver gelatin print and maybe even try a kallitype as this would be a great challenge.
