The National Geographic Photo Ark sheds a spotlight on creatures in captivity and launched a movement to protect them. In partnership with the Zoological Society of London’s EDGE (Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered) of Existence programme, National Geographic developed the Nat Geo Photo Ark EDGE Fellowship to protect lesser-known animal species at risk of extinction who have been featured in the Photo Ark. Meet the weird and wonderful animals these conservationists are working to save and hear their critical conservation stories.

National Geographic Explorers Festival brings together innovative scientists, conservationists, explorers, and storytellers from around the world to share their discoveries, insights, and solutions for creating a more sustainable future. The annual event welcomes National Geographic educators, fellows, grantees, and more back to Society headquarters in Washington, D.C. for a week of collaboration, conservation, and creativity. #NatGeoFest
