Hookworm, a disease prevalent in developing nations in the tropics, was thought to have been eradicated from the US in the earlier part of the 20th century. But according to a recent study from the Baylor College of Tropical Medicine, it's making a comeback in rural Alabama where proper human waste disposal is hard to come by. VICE News goes to Lowndes County with the authors of the prior study who are going back to expand their search and focus on affected children.
