In the first episode of Aarhus Walks we invite you to do the promenade at the Salling Rooftop designed by Danish architectural studio Henning Larsen and to explore the city of Aarhus - the second largest city of Denmark - both walking and observing from the roof garden.
Aarhus was originally a Viking settlement and was called Aros. Because of its location, Aarhus has always been an important trades centre both in the Denmark of the Vikings and the Middle Ages.
Nowadays, Aarhus is a young and effervescent city with beaches, woods, UNESCO heritage sites and contemporary architecture. In 2017, it was the European Capital of Culture. Meanwhile, the Salling Rooftop in Aarhus has been voted the best bar of its kind in a ranking compiled by Big 7 Travel.
