David Mitchell, Executive Director of Atlanta Preservation Center, gives us an inside look at one of Atlanta's historic preservation gems, the May Patterson Goodrum House. The Buckhead Mansion was designed in 1929 by the famed architect Philip Trammell Shutze. The interior is a delight for the senses, with its extravagant Chinese murals in the dining room designed by Allen Cox, and birdcage designs in the breakfast nook by artist Athos Menaboni. We not only tour the home, but visit the landscaped grounds to observe the careful renovation under the auspices of the Watson-Brown Foundation and curator Barbra Hyde.
