Come join me, Pablo, and Ian as we dive into our jumping session focused on honing our fundamental skills. Today, we're working on adjusting our gears in the canter, tweaking our stride length for each jump, staying straight on approach and landing, and mastering our balance in and out of turns.

Now, let's be real - not every session goes according to plan! After our warm-up, we kicked things off by practicing straightness over an oxer and vertical. The idea was to progress to stringing together several jumps to work on our canter, straightness, and my position.

Unfortunately, I messed up on the approach to the first vertical. I overused my left hand, throwing off Pablo's balance and stride at take off, resulting in a crash through the jump. I got unseated, and Pablo reacted with a buck as my leg hit his flank.

We wrapped up the session on a positive note. Despite the mishap, Pablo was unfazed and jumped everything with ease, even though I was running on a bit of adrenaline.

Now, in terms of mindset, this mishap really tested me. I started doubting myself and worried about wrecking Pablo. Those negative thoughts crept in, but I tapped into my mindset toolkit and challenged them. Do these thoughts serve me? No. Are they true? No, because Pablo wasn't bothered, and we finished strong.

Today taught me valuable lessons. Mistakes are opportunities for growth, and I can always regroup, refocus, and repeat, drawing on my solid foundation of jumping skills.
