Now we know we are playing a very dangerous game with the title ‘10 Things Harry Potter Stole From Lord Of The Rings’ and admittedly we are being very cheeky. That’s because we do not mean literally ‘stole’ or are in anyway suggesting that JK Rowling plagiarized anything from ‘Lord of the Rings’. In fact we are being rather loose with the word. When we say stole, we mean that there are some striking similarities between the two which could have been coincidence or either were inspired consciously or unconsciously by Tolkien’s amazing work. Both are phenomenal series in their own right and are pop culture icons, but even the best sometimes take inspiration from others.

In this video we are going to take a look at 10 similarities between the two series and how many parallels there are. From similar character archetypes and personalities, like for like mythical beasts and even enchanted jewelry- we will delve into some of the greatest works of fiction of all time and discuss two momentous series.
