Yes, I know I'm meant to be the lady who does funny songs, but that's hard to do with a heavy heart, and I've always wanted my music to reflect current realities. The conflict with Israel and Gaza tears at me. I'm no politician, but an artist, and the best way I can try to wrestle with the horrors in our world is through words and music. So no answers here, just a shared grief at all the pain so many are facing now. My heart especially hurts for the children caught in this.

I read a new poem this morning, 'Words Whispered To A Child Under Siege' by Joseph Fasano. Do yourself a favour, look it up and read it! His powerful words, combined with memories of one of my favourite movies, 'Life Is Beautiful', inspired this song.
