Cupra Formentor is - to put it simply - a Seat Leon with raised ground clearance and longer overhangs. However if you go for the Seat Leon, 150 hp TSI or a 204 hp PHEV is all you are going to get. In the Cupra on the other hand this is where you start. For now some of the Seat engines are available in the Cupra, but ultimately Cupra will have a separate VIN, and it will become a full-fledged separate brand. This will allow Seat to keep the emissions and therefore prices in check. And it someone wants a bit more of that auto emocion, they will have to pay for a more powerful Cupra.
